The Trevor Arms Soon To Re-Open Its Doors

Glynde Estates are delighted to formally announce that the Trevor Arms pub in Glynde is shortly to reopen its doors following a much lamented period of closure.

Steve Keegan and Bethany Warren will be managing and operating the pub and bring with them impressive experience in the pub and hospitality trade having started working together some 15 years ago. Steve’s background is rooted in hospitality and brewing following a move to the South East from Middlesbrough when he was 20. Bethany’s working life has been devoted to the arts and design and alongside Steve they’ve collectively created and managed over 20 different types of hospitality business including cafes, comedy clubs, football stadium bars, community cafes, city centre breweries, taprooms and food led pubs.

After Steve founded the Only With Love brewery in Uckfield, and the Lewes Brewcafe in Malling the chance for he and Bethany to move to the village in which she grew up was an opportunity they simply could not resist.  Bethany’s connection and love for Glynde coupled with Steve’s passion and experience regenerating pubs such as the Trevor Arms has undoubtedly fuelled their collective desire to take on the challenge.

Steve brings with him a great knowledge of the industry as well as the Sussex pub scene in general having previously been a senior manager at Fuller’s in London running pubs for this well known gastro-pub brand before setting out on his own consulting. This work included the opening of a number of breweries and craft beer operations to include the Brighton Beer Dispensary, Lakedown alongside taking on a directorship at Lewes Football club as their head of hospitality.

Bethany is the driving force behind everything community and creation.  Her passion for regenerating closed sites and integrating them within the local community has been the cornerstone of the whole design and creation ethos.  Be it taking old bookmakers and turning them into local bars, or revitalising worn out and lost to the community pubs and cafes Bethany’s vision is clear.  The chance to bring this vision into play in her home village and re-open the much missed Trevor Arms is a challenge both she and Steve are really excited about.

In anticipation of the reopening, the Trevor Arms has undergone an extensive programme of much needed repair and renovation works delivered and funded collaboratively by Glynde Estates, Steve and Bethany. Particular credits must go out to Glynde Estates Buildings Maintenance and Development Manager (Jason Lee) and his team of staff and trusted sub-contractors who’ve collectively worked extremely hard to deliver a substantial amount of work in a tight timescale.

Nick Jones (Managing Agent for Glynde Estates) commented “We're excited to welcome Steve and Bethany and very much look forward to seeing them put their extensive experience to work in bringing the Trevor Arms back to life for the benefit and enjoyment of our local communities and those visiting from further afield. We wish them and the team working alongside them every success for the future”.

Steve Keegan and Bethany Warren commented —

“We're absolutely thrilled to be opening The Trevor Arms and just a few weeks away from throwing open the doors once again! This incredible transformation wouldn't have been possible without the invaluable support of Glynde Estates, our dedicated refurb team at Oakleaf, and the numerous talented local artists and designers who've poured their hearts into making this vision a reality. Our focus is on celebrating the very best of local Sussex produce. From the world-class brewers and exceptional wine producers on our doorstep to the array of artisan food creators we are so fortunate to have nearby, we'll be showcasing their incredible craft. But above all, we are genuinely excited to reopen The Trevor Arms as a true community hub for the wonderful locals of Glynde, Beddingham, and beyond.”
