Alessandro Fisher - BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists 2018 - 2020

Alessandro Fisher was a Music Scholar at Eton College from 2002 – 2007 and a Choral Scholar at Clare College Cambridge from 2007 – 2011. He achieved a BA Hons in Modern and Medieval Languages in 2011. He went on to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama for Postgraduate Vocal Studies from 2011 – 2013. His foreign languages are Italian, French and German.

He was joint winner of the Paul Hamburger Lieder Prize, GSMD, in November 2012, winner of the Oxford Lieder Young Artists Platform competition in 2013 and joint winner of the 2016 Kathleen Ferrier Awards at the Wigmore Hall in 2016. He became a BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist for the period 2018 – 2020.

He is already widely experienced in opera, solo oratorio and lieder recitals in the UK and internationally, performing at Glyndebourne, the National Theatre, Barbican Hall and Covent Garden, and further afield in Innsbruck, Tirol, Bordeaux etc. He has received glowing reviews for his lyrical voice and intelligent musicianship linked to a notable stage presence.

He will be partnered at Glynde Place by the pianist, Gary Matthewman.

Programme to include works by F. Schubert, R. Hahn, J. Brahms, G. Fauré and E. Chausson plus others.
