Laura van der Heijden has achieved international acclaim after winning the BBC Young Musician of the Year in 2012 at the age of 15. She has since graduated from St. John’s College, Cambridge and studied for a Masters with Antje Weithaas at the Hans Eisler in Berlin, emerging as one of the leading cellists of her generation. Her 2018 debut album “1948” won the 2018 Edison Klassiek Award and the 2019 BBC Music Magazine Newcomer of the Year Award.

Her engagements in recent years include concerts with leading international orchestras in Moscow, Amsterdam, Zurich, Prague, Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands, New York and Baltimore, USA, and many more. Numerous engagements with the UK orchestras include performances with the Philharmonia, BBC Scottish Symphony, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the Royal and BBC Philharmonic Orchestras. She is also a passionate chamber musician, collaborating with a variety of established groups and instrumentalists.

Welsh pianist, Jâms Coleman, performs as a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist. He regularly plays at major festivals in the UK and abroad, the BBC Proms, and accompanies many of the leading singers and instrumentalists for recording, radio broadcasts and recitals.
